General
- SafeMask.Tech Facemask is a washable and reusable fabric facemask, and as such, the Facemask can be washed numerous times
- Subject to good and careful handling and fabric care, your SafeMask.Tech Facemask can be washed up to 90 times
First Time Use Wash
- Wash your SafeMask.Tech Facemask immediately upon opening the packaging by following the foregoing steps
- Soak your Facemask in a basin or washing container of clean and cold tap water until the Facemask is completely wet
- Soak for 1 minute or so
- Then add pH neutral detergent into the basin and washing container, and then stir the water until the water foams
- Then gently clean your Facemask in the foamed soap water for 2 to 3 minutes
- Drain away the foamed soap water, and then fill the basin or washing container with clean and cold tap water
- Then continue to clean your Facemask until it is clean and free of soap
- Once your Facemask is clean, gently remove water from the fabric, and hang the Facemask until dry
- Alternatively, you can tumble dry your Facemask in a washing machine, but tumble dry without heat
Subsequent Use Washes
- As with your First Time Use Wash, wash your Facemask at the end of each day after wear, by following the foregoing steps
- Soak your Facemask in a basin or washing container of clean and cold tap water until the Facemask is completely wet
- Soak for 1 minute or so
- Then add pH neutral detergent into the basin and washing container, and then stir the water until the water foams
- Then gently clean your Facemask in the foamed soap water for 2 to 3 minutes
- Drain away the foamed soap water, and then fill the basin or washing container with clean and cold tap water
- Then continue to clean your Facemask until it is clean and free of soap
- Once your Facemask is clean, gently remove water from the fabric, and hang the Facemask until dry
- Alternatively, you can tumble dry your Facemask in a washing machine, but tumble dry without heat
Dos and Don’ts
- Do wash your Facemask after every wear
- Store your Facemask in a clean place or in a clean container after cleaning and/or when not using them
- Do not wash your Facemask using hot or boiling water
- Do not wash your Facemask with overly strong, ie too acidic or too alkaline detergent
- Do not bleach your Facemask
- When removing water from your Facemask after washing, do not wring (ie squeeze and twist) your Facemask in a rough manner
- Do not tumble dry your Facemask using heat
- Do not iron your Facemask
- Do not wear your Facemask if it has not been washed or cleaned
- Do not wash your Facemask with other facemasks or other garments
- Do not share your Facemask
Recommendations
- It is highly recommended that you keep a second Facemask as standby, in case you lose it, or if you forget to wash after use
- You can also keep a spare Facemask in your car, in case you forget to bring them when going out in a rush
- Take good care of your Facemask, as SafeMask.Tech Facemasks are lasting, and can be also used, other than during pandemics, in the event of haze, fires, contaminated air situations, etc
- For the safety of your family members and close ones, keep at least one set at home for emergencies
